On our recent Series A funding round, our CEO, Tunde, appeared on CNBC Africa to discuss how the funding will impact the hospitality industry and help push our mission of automating Africa’s food supply.
About 700 million Africans are fed daily by restaurants and other food businesses. These food businesses lose about $100 billion annually due to irregular supply, waste, a lack of funding for procurement, and access to data to effectively manage their procurement and business operations.
Over the last year, we have successfully moved over 400,000 metric tons of food from the point of production to the point of consumption.
We have helped businesses on our platform by saving them over $ 2 million in costs that would have resulted from waste or expensive goods if they had not used our services. We have also saved businesses over 10,000 man-hours in procurement and have optimised our logistics operations from 24-hour to 12 hours delivery time.
In addition to our operations in eight cities and two countries, we are bolstering efforts to expand into new markets within Africa to provide sustainable value to more food businesses.
We are recommitting ourselves to our mission- leverage tech in delivering food businesses the food item and business support needed to scale.
